Emergency Bridge Replacement in Carnforth

Following structural damage caused by Storm Desmond, Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd was appointed to deliver the emergency demolition and full reconstruction of Middleton Hall Bridge near Carnforth.

Working with Lancashire County Council, the project included rapid demolition of the existing structure and construction of a new bridge with reinforced concrete abutments, precast concrete beams, and masonry parapets. Due to the urgent nature of the works and proximity to the river, environmental protection and fast turnaround were critical to the success of the scheme.
