New Car Park Construction for Council Offices at Lillyhall

Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd was appointed by Cumbria County Council to construct additional car parking at West Cumbria House in Lillyhall, Workington. The 10-week project was delivered under NEC 3 Option A and completed on programme in August 2020.

The works were carefully planned to coordinate with an ongoing refurbishment of the office building, while managing public access, traffic constraints on Jubilee Road, and the site's proximity to an open watercourse. Our team utilised experience from the 2015 Flood Recovery Programme to mitigate risks associated with in-river working, and reinforced temporary fencing due to the exposed nature of the site.
