Car Park Upgrade and Public Access Works for Cumbria County Council

Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd was appointed to upgrade and redevelop several busy car parks centred around Kendal County Hall. The works were completed over an 18-week programme and delivered on time in August 2020, with full coordination of public access, emergency routes, and council service continuity.

The project included muckshift, construction of four new parking areas, new drainage and gullies, street lighting and ducting, SMA surfacing by our in-house team, electric vehicle charging points, cycle shelters, new ticket machines, stone planters, and extensive landscaping. Reinforced concrete flood wall construction was completed alongside the River Kent using local stone.
