Players Court, Penrith

Delivering High-Quality Housing for Residents in Penrith
Player’s Court in Penrith involved the internal and external refurbishment of a former block of bedsits into nine high-quality residential flats for Home Group. The project was designed to help support homeless and vulnerable individuals by creating modern, energy-efficient homes.
The works included extensive repairs and upgrades: repointing, wall repairs, partial re-roofing, new entrance doors, full internal refurbishment with new kitchens, plumbing and rewiring, Hush acoustic flooring, and vinyl finishes. Rear windows and composite fire-rated doors were also replaced.
A key aspect of the project was energy performance — electric boilers were installed, and loft insulation was significantly improved, with EPC ratings achieved between C and D. One ground floor flat was configured for office or staff base use. Despite added scope and a complex location on a one-way street, the project was delivered safely and efficiently, with minimal disruption to the community.
