H&H Auction Mart, Carlisle

New Sustainable Auction Facilities in Carlisle
The project involved the demolition of outdated, asbestos-containing structures and the construction of modern new buildings to improve welfare for livestock, workers, and visitors. Located on a live site, the works were carefully phased to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations at the UK’s central hub for livestock movement.
To improve sustainability and building efficiency, water harvesting tanks were installed for washout reuse, silt traps were fitted to prevent runoff contamination, and new Headguard 50 roofing sheets were used to maximise daylight while reducing internal heat gain.
Daily communication with the client ensured site activities could operate safely around ongoing livestock movements and auctions.
