Hotel Refurbishment and Extension in the Lake District
Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd delivered the full refurbishment and extension of the former Waterhead Hotel in Coniston, now operating as The Coniston Inn.
The project involved converting the existing 24-bed premises and constructing a new 23-bedroom extension to create a 47-bed facility. Additional works included redevelopment of the kitchen, car park, and external areas — all designed to meet current building regulations and environmental compliance.
Located on a tight bend in the road and opposite residential properties, the project required careful site management and regular communication with local residents and businesses to minimise disruption throughout the 72-week programme.
